My boyfriend never talks about marriage, but we've been together for 5 years😓! He always dodges conversations about our future. What should I do?
While it's okay not to be engaged after five years (some people wait until they reach a certain age or milestone to get married, or choose to stay together without being married) it's not okay for him to be dodging conversations about the future. Five years is plenty of time to start thinking about the future, even two years. You need to force a conversation about the future, perhaps even give an ultimatum. If you want to get married, but he doesn't, it's better to leave than to waste any more of your time.
